Bursaries on-site. Donations are requested per day for each camper at the studio to support the residency as a contribution or have significant input that benefits the project financially.
Event Horizon is a private
retreat for production and experimentation and residents do not usually overlap for significant amounts of time, if indeed at all, in which case residents usually work alone or with their partner/assistants. Residencies have a recommended minimum
of
2 weeks up until a maximum of 3 months.
Winter Studio in Neapolis Town: for any residents staying in Neapolis Town a studio is available walking distance from The Architects House and Windmill accommodations. The studio is ideal especially during with winter months when rural life is more challenging.
We selected three 12m steel dry shipping containers from a used cargo dealer in Athens. The building is insulated with Marine Ply cladding and Polystyrene Foamboard on the outside walls with PolTherma DS sandwich panels on the roof.
We are using the cosmological phenomenon of the Event Horizon as an analogy for art and creativity as a transcendent concept. Ingenuity is experimentation with all phenomenon and provides a way to experience one's self in relation to the mysteries of the universe.
We are witness to the devastation of the environment by rich and poor human activity and after so many years working to raise fragile planet awareness I have become a warrior for sustainable living. Applicants with this ideology are especially welcome as
artist in residence.
